Question: Should OurEcho Recommend Products?

I don't believe that it will damage the Our Echo experience as long as purchase and use is completely voluntary. I'm sure that some will have no interest in using or making audio.

I wonder, once you have compiled a list of equipment that you think is the best deal, if you approached those who sell such equipment, you could negotiate some discounts, and /or some payment for endorsement or advertising for their product. If you can pull that off, perhaps you could use that money for the junior writing competition fund.

I was hoping you would respond. I actually posted this question because of the feedback you provided on the url short name modification.

I do hope to exact some discounts or special support (in the case of software) from any vendor we use. I don't even know that many people would even be interested trying audio, so it may be difficult getting discounts the first time around. We'll see.

This would definitely be voluntary. I'm not looking to have any fees or cost associated with using OurEcho.

If someone is thinking of acquiring software to create audio files, having a recommendation from a trusted source is always a great help. And if you could get the software company to provide a discount that would be even better.

I'm new here but I think this would be great for OurEcho--it would surely equip the new members with much needed information to be able to post all that they wish to post.
