Kathe, They sure know more then most people give them credit for that's for sure. My two guys are always in tune and step, they know when the shoes come out along w/my purse I'm leaving. As for emotions, they pick up on every one. I hate it when people say "it's just a dog!" I prefer my dogs over most people, the worst a dog can do is bite, a person hurts you to the core & it never heals. Dogs are the best companions!!

Kathe,
Saturday morning tears for me after reading this heartwarming and heart-tugging piece. Because I know and love you and have met and fell in love with Corky, it may touch me more than others, although I have no doubts all will feel something when reading this one. Well done and a Forever Keeper.
Love to both you and Cork

Aww so wonderful that y'all share each others love. Nothing like a dog to help the healing. If it wasn't for Latte' Dotte' I'd be a basket case by now.
Thanks

A wonderful story wonderfully written Kathe. The story nearly brought forth tears from this allegedly hard nosed old man a couple of times as I read it. Having loved and lost my share of them perhaps gives me greater understanding. I pity those who have never felt the love of a dog.

What a beautiful love story. Yes, there most definitely are love stories between dogs and their humans! Written beautifully as well...

Lovely & Great story, as usual, Ms. Kathe! I am without a dog for first time since '83... perhaps SOON :)
Hang in as always!
With LOVE,

Kathe, this really brought a tear to my eye. What a companion you have in your faithful Corky Sue. He obviously adores you as much as you do him. This story is one of your very, very best. A blue ribbon to you, my friend.
Love you, Maria

Hi Kathe,
What a truly delightful story about your Corky. Yours is definitely a mutual admiration companionship! As I read it, I was wishing he could read, too! Each and every sentence is so descriptive. Example: "We relaxed, indulging in our nightly chin-chopper and tummy time" and then about the earthquake: "both our hearts pounded like trip hammers."
You have surely composed another winner of a story. Take a bow.
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

Many Thanx - I writes 'em as I see and feel 'em. This one has been around the bend to various anthologies, but none biting yet, so glad you thot it was a winner. K

There's nothing like a dog story to tug at my heart, and this one certainly did. BJ
