Stumble, Mumble, Grumble and Forgetful

I have noticed a change
As I approach 88
Different stages of growing older
I can now relate

I have been having trouble lately
With Dropitis
I drop something
It goes outta sightis

I grab my mechanical reacher
To retrieve
What I dropped on the tile
Under the refrigerator with ease.

Then I sit and cuss
About the inability of my hands and knees
To bend and flex properly
Not to have these extremities freeze

I hafta tell you
I am a happy man
My outlook works better
Than my body can

My hearing not the best
Sight needs a new test
Body needs frequent rest
Staying well, my quest

There are some adjustments
That I would cheer
Accidently bumping into something
And an ugly bruise would not appear

Hide is thinner
Easier to tear
Longer to cure
No fast healing power there

Finger nails and toe nails
Grow faster each day
Constantly snipping and clipping the
Excess away

No more hair on my chest
It’s now growing on my eyebrows and in my ears
Have 96% of my teeth
Though crooked and ugly showing lottsa wear

As I walk it’s at a much slower pace
Right knee showing some pain
Left knee works fine with that new brace
Thinking about buying a “Hurry Cane”

I am telling you this
For what it’s worth
I thank God for giving me all this time
On earth
