BETRAYED Ė AGAIN
By Fred Wickert

Around this time last year there was a budget fight. The President and Harry Reid shut down the government and proclaimed to all, ďThe Republicans did it!Ē The President always blames someone else for everything he does wrong. It is SOP or Standard Operating Procedure.

The Republicans took a lot of heat for it and were paranoid that it might happen again this year so they were panic stricken at the very thought of another government shutdown.

Last year the shutdown ended in betrayal of the people by a deal. Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader made a back room deal for which he got for his state of Kentucky, two and a half billion dollars of American Tax Payers money to build a dam and some locks in his stateís waterways.

I had contacted my congressman, one Chris Gibson, Republican from New York and pleaded with him not to give in and vote for funding Obama Care no matter how much they shut down the government. He wrote back and gave me his word that no matter what, he will never vote for one single cent to fund Obama Care. After the deal was made he wrote me another letter, telling me what a good deal we got from the deal between Obama and Mitch McConnell. I never bothered to contact my senators because my state has Chucky Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand. Contacting them I knew was a waste of time, but I did have faith in Chris Gibson. Iíll know better from now on.

This year I thought we were going to get a better deal. After all, the Democrat party just took the biggest whipping in mid-term election history because of the rejection of the people throughout the country of the policies of Barack Obama. It was obvious that it was anti Obama and not pro Republican that did it. Obama said he heard us. He either lied or didnít care. I thought our Republican leadership had heard the voters. Either they didnít, or like Obama, they didnít care.

There was another back room deal. The Republican Speaker of the House threw in the towel to Obama. What Boehner got in return is not yet clear. What is clear is that Obama, Harry Reid, Boehner and McConnell made another deal and over the objections of the Democrat leadership in the House, got a new spending bill passed. Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader is furious and it looks like Elizabeth Warren in the Senate is none too happy either, but Harry Reid seems confident he has the votes to get it passed. Of course Obama is going to sign it because he got what he wants Ė the funding for his four million Mexican Amnesty recipients, illegal or not.

What did John Boehner get? We donít know yet. What did we the people get?
THE SHAFT! One point one trillion dollarís worth!
