WHAT DO I DO NOW?

WHAT DO I DO NOW?
By Fred Wickert

Does anyone know how much it costs to move around an aircraft carrier and a missile destroyer? It costs a lot! I can’t tell you in dollars and cents but I can tell you it costs a lot of money. Tax payer’s money. You know – you and me, the tax payers.

The Iranians have dispatched nine cargo ships that are allegedly carrying weapons for Iran’s proxy army in Yemen. They are accompanied by eight Iranian war ships for their protection. Obama decided that we can’t have this. We cannot allow nine ships full of weapons to be given to those forces fighting on behalf of Iran, trying to take over Yemen. The President ordered a carrier loaded with FA-18 fighters to intercept those Iranian ships.

Now the carrier and a missile destroyer sent along to protect it from attack have caught up to the Iranian convoy and are following them. You might say they have become the tail end of the convoy. FA-18’s from the carrier are flying reconnaissance missions to keep watch on those ships suspected of carrying weapons. One TV pundit today was heard to say that this is a warning to Iran. He said on the surface they are talking nice to each other, but behind closed doors he said you can be sure they are not talking so nice. He said this is a warning to the Iranians that they better back off. He said this is no red line like it was in Syria. We are telling Iran that this time we mean business.

Meanwhile a lady spokesperson came on TV to answer some questions for the press. The lady said the White House has not yet decided whether or not the United States will attempt to board any of the Iranian ships to see if it is carrying weapons, if it looks like it will attempt to enter a Yemen port. When asked how close the White House is to making that decision, she replied that they are a very long way from making that decision.

It is noted that Iran says the ships are not carrying weapons. They are only carrying routine supplies. In this case the meaning of the word, “Routine” is unclear.

When the White House spokesman was asked by a reporter, if an Iranian vessel is stopped and Americans request permission on behalf of the United Nations to board and inspect the ship to see if it is carrying weapons, will that permission be granted, the reply was they don’t know. Again, the White House is a long way from making that decision.

It doesn’t take that long for a ship to go from Iran to Yemen. I keep telling myself if they want to make a decision before the ships arrive and unload, they had better speed up that decision making process or it will be too late.

Meanwhile it was announced later in the day that the United States had agreed to a bonus for Iran if they will sign the deal in June. In addition to the five billion in frozen Iranian funds they were going to release upon signing, we are now going to release an additional fifty billion in frozen assets immediately.

If we cannot decide whether or not we will board an Iranian vessel, why did we bother to send a carrier and a missile destroyer there to intercept them?

If we really mean business this time why are we trying to bribe them with freeing fifty billion dollars in assets immediately?

It seems to me that maybe Obama dispatched the carrier on an impulse and now it is there, he is asking himself, “What do I do now?”

We as a people made a huge mistake in electing Barack Obama as our President. When we re-elected him it was a sheer act of stupidity on the part of the American people. I want to share with you a quote from Vaclav Klaus, former Premier of the Czech Republic. He said,

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama Presidency than to restore the necessary good sense and common judgement to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their President. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the Prince of the Fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive the multitude of fools such as those that made him their President.”

These words are prophetic. We have a lot of work to do after we survive Obama. Let us pray for wisdom and guidance in trying to survive the damage done and the fools who continue to support our Prince of Fools!
