ABOUT RACE

ABOUT RACE
By Fred Wickert

It is said that God created man in his own image. Okay, so what is man? Will we not agree that man is what we call humanoid? Or just plain human? I think we basically all agree on that.

As I understand it, at the time of the great flood, the time of Noah and his ark, he loaded his family on the ark. There were so we are told, no other humans on that ark other than Noah, his wife and his immediate family.

Noah we are told had three sons. The sons were married and of course they brought along their wives. Then the great flood came. It rained we are told, for forty days and forty nights and it flooded the earth. The earth was covered with water and the only living animals and humans were on that ark.

Not only did Jesus tell us that the Bible is the word of God, but the Bible has many prophecies which have all come to pass just as they were foretold. To me that also is enough to prove it true. In addition archeologists keep finding more and more new finds which prove the places and peoples the Bible tells us about are true.

Therefore, that means that we all descend from Noah and his family. My Dad once told me that each of Noah's sons was of a different race which explains the different races of today. Even before that we all descended from Adam and Eve, or so it would seem.

I have long believed the difference in appearance may have been due to the adjustment of those who lived in geographical areas with different characteristics. The environment over a long period of time being responsible for changes in skin color or eye slants and different body and hair colors and so on.

It really matters very little for we are all people with the same origin. I therefore believe it is just plain stupidity of the human species to spend so much animosity towards those who are perceived different from us. Any surgeon will tell you that under the skin we all look exactly alike.

Why then so much racial disharmony among the peoples of the earth. When we get right down to it, under the skin we are all brothers and sisters. We cannot shed our skins and replace them with some kind of uniform, but why do we have to be enemies?

I don't think we need to be and I for one believe we should not be. God made us all the same family. That means any who are not your brother or sister is at least your cousin. That makes them family. Let us try to believe and to live our lives that way. It sure will make for a better world.
