Our neighbors fight often. We hear them through the walls of our apartment.

I sat outside reading. Their cat sat and cried at their apartment door, hoping someone
would open the door and let him in.

Another argument began. Their cat turned from the door, walked down the steps and
ran around the building. He wanted nothing to do with them.

I thought about their son. He must cower in his room when his parents fight, like I did
as a child. My parents fought; I hid, terrified. I wanted to run away like the cat did.

Donít parents realize the effect their arguing has on their children?

Think about your children.
