LOOK-LOOK

People point to me and say, “Look-Look.”

Sometimes I think my name is Look-Look, instead of Eye-Balls.

When I was born I had this huge mop of hair.

And I needed long eye-balls to poke through to see.

I’m not very t-tall either.

If I speak too quickly I stumble over words.

I have web feet too.

This helps me swim faster than anyone in my class.

Instead of Ah-Choo when I sneeze, I always say Ka-Zoo.

I look out the window and see those bullies. Again.

They like to poke at my Eye-Balls. And grab my hair.

What are you hiding under there? They always ask.

A treasure I answer. I like to tease them.

I run quickly each time I say that.

Today I discovered I have new powers.

It must be because I am growing older.

When I sneeze Ka-Zoo, I turn into a much smaller me.

I’m like a little marble that is very hard to see.

Now it is easy to run and hide.

After going outside to play, I have to sneeze once more--

Ka-ZOO.

Note: This was a fun story to write. It would be great if a publisher wished to turn this into a picture book story. Please enjoy reading it. RLP
