Audio Stories are easily identified on OurEcho by the small headphones located next to the story name. Once a story with an audio is selected, there are two ways to listen to the audio recording: 1. Users with Broadband Access (cable or DSL) a. Select the “Listen to voice recording” control toolbar just above where the story text begins by clicking on it once. b. Select the forward arrow button by clicking it once. The recording should begin to play. Make sure your speakers are on. 2. Users with Dial-up Access a. Select the “Download MP3” button just above where the story text begins. b. Once selected, you will be prompted to “open", "save" or "cancel" - choose "save". c. You will then be prompted to choose a location where you would like to save the file - pick someplace like "my documents", though it doesn't really matter. Select "save" again. You will see the file being downloaded to your PC. It may take some time, so do this when you have time. d. When the download is complete, you will be prompted to “open”, "open folder" or "close" - Select "open". It should then bring up your default music player and begin playing the audio. Make sure your speakers are on. The length of the audio will determine the download time. Generally, you can gauge the length of the audio by the length of its associated text. |
