there was Rebecca, there was cheryl, each of them, i called "my girl". there was Linda, and jo in my life, each of them, i called "my wife". I traveled the world, i call myself a man, but i could not, if it were not for Ann. Ann was my first love, the treasure of my heart, just a wee girl, and i loved her a lot. but she was married, our love could not be, i left her with a sigh, as heart broken, and lonely as I. What lonely fools, life makes of us, we men,our causes, our bragging, being just, being fair, being the hero, being men, how can women know, that we sometimes cry, in the dark, alone, too proud, to tell anyone. well, thats life i guess, and the golden rule, but then, these are just the ramblings, of an old fool. |
