long ago,my mother told me
"sweep around your own front door"
but i never really understood
that it ment a whole lot more.
And my Mother told me too
"waste not want not"
but i never understood,
untill i didn't have a pot.
All these words of wisdom she spoke,
that i didn't understand
are completely clear to me,
now that i've became a man.
So teach your children well,
for as the twig is bent,
is the way the tree will grow,
to me,is clearly evident.
