President Bush's Economic Stimulus Plan

Well,here we go again,the president has announced an economic stimulus package to aid our ailing economy,hey thats front page news now,but why now?why not last year when the really big news hit the front page that the u.s. was going to suffer a mortgage melt down? Oh yeah and why would the president not include older americans in his economic stimulus plan?want my opinnion? well here it is anyway,and you know what they say about opinions,I personaly think that the president is only echoing what most younger americans think about the elderly,inconsequential comes to mind,that and "they dont matter"and phrases like "who cares,he/she is old anyway"now i am not saying that the president actually said these things,what i AM saying is that these terms and others even worse are what i have heard from younger people since i reached the magestic age of 55,you know,thats the age when they (the younger) place that word on you when needing a word to describe you,that word is "SENIOR CITIZEN"and it seems to envoke a whole range of other words and actions,like "Sir,is that decafe?"or even "Do you want the senior size?"well if i sound bitter it is not intentional,it just sort of riles me when a young whipper snapper calls me pappy or grandad and wants to know if i want decafe coffee in my McDonalds coffee cup.Hell no,i always say,i am old enough to drink real coffee,or when some one ask me how long have i been standing in line at a fast food restaurant,implying that i need to sit down for awhile,and it also riles me when the clerk ask the guy in front of me for a picture ID when he wants to buy a pack of cigarettes and never ask me to produce mine for the same product of course when i ask why they always reply "oh i know you are old enough"now i can tell you why this sort of gets my dandruff up,it is because # 1 i hate labels,# 2 i think it is a form of descrimination # 3 there is no # 3 # 4 i think it is illegal to descriminate on account of age,gender and political affiliation or somthing like that.Oh and dont even think of applying for employment,when you do that you have to suffer the humiliation of "hahahaaa some old guy came in and applied for the job of boiler tender,what a dork,why dont he just go to the old folks home?"or words or actions of that sort.
Now,returning to the presidents economic stimulus package,whats wrong with him anyway?dont he think the elderly need stimulation too?(pun)ok ok go ahead and inset a long sigh here (....)i will understand,even if the younger generation dont.
Guess i have taken up enough of your precious time now,so i will mosey on down to the general store and play an exciting game of checkers with all the other old guys,hell maybe i will really get exerted enough to play a streneous game of horse shoes,then afterwards we can sit in the shade in those old rocking chairs and watch the world pass us bye.Y'all come on down and join us,if you got the energy,maybe we can all share a bottle of geritol sittin there under those old magnolia trees.
