There is a homeless person who wanders down our street sometimes he digs in garbage cans lookin for food to eat, i know his life cannot be happy and it is a living hell and the only place that he is safe is in our city jail. I know that you have seen them in our cities and our towns the lonely and forgotten ones the insane the trodden down. Sometimes they approach you an ask you for a dime but you hurry right on by them for you havent got the time, to spend just a moment with these citizens of the street for you think that they are dirty and they dont look to neat. But please consider these words as you hurriedly walk on by, "There but for the grace of God, so might walk I" |
