The Investiture

He stands there with
other cubs
so proud head up high

eyes shining
after memorizing
the Promise and Law
wanting to be
invested so badly.

Surrounded by
friends he
repeats phrases
after the Cubmaster

“I’ll do my Best—Honour
and other good things.”
My son.
