From an Older Fellow

Gather around
in the dust of time
tales unfolding
after campfire songs
where stars
sprinkle the blackness
their diamond pricks
teasing memories

of family times
swimming in Ontario’s
Nottawassaga Bay
gondolas climbing heart-stopping
Sulphur Mountain in Alberta
the green growth of
PEI potatoes
Cabot Trail curves in NS
rocky soil in Northern Quebec
and swishing wheat golden
across flat Saskatchewan. Then

the glory of BC Rockies
scenic pastures in Manitoba
Newfoundland pride
to New Brunswick
my wife’s home province.
Like gravy
good memories cover
any moment of undue stress.
