Kakabeka Falls

Courageous Princess who
endured threats and torture-chants

led a marauding group
to their deaths,
lured them over the falls
to their Maker

hiss of arrow, cries of anger
Sioux war-calls dimmed.

Daughter from the mountain,
mist upon the waters
never to be vanquished…
