Each month OurEcho donates $50 to a charity as a another way of thanking those that post. Our May, 2006 charity is The Arthritis Foundation.

Over 70 million Americans endure the painful and sometimes crippling effects of Arthritis and chronic joint symptoms. The Arthritis Foundation is committed to helping these individuals and is the only national, voluntary health agency seeking the causes, cures, preventions and treatments for the more than 100 forms of arthritis. The Foundation has 150 chapters and service points nationwide to provide community-based programs and to raise funds. The Arthritis Foundation is a volunteer-driven organization with program, research, budget and policy decisions made by volunteer committees.

The Arthritis Foundation currently provides nearly $20 million in grants to nearly 300 researchers to help find a cure, prevention or better treatment for Arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation’s sponsorship of research for more than 50 years has resulted in major treatment advances for most arthritis diseases.
