The Walnut Valley Bank

The Walnut Valley Bank

Just another El Dorado Landmark
Razed on South Main
The Walnut Valley Bank
Not many old landmarks remain

Mr. Tanner and Mr. Zimmerman
Were very nice to me
Helped me with an inheritance
That was willed to me

Helped me get a Government coupon bond
The interest didnít amount to much
Every three months I received $12.50 on $2,000.00
Now I could afford a Hamburger at Maryís lunch.

Or a veal with Chile down at Londeenís
A game of snooker at a smoked filled parlor
A Movie at the El Dorado Theater
A chocolate malt at Graves Drug Store.

Or maybe roller skating
At the local roller rink
Or go to the dance with your sweetie at the Loc Mor
Or buy a couple Blue Ribbon beers to drink.

Oh well what do I care
In my mind I know
Iíll remember her as I left her
Many years ago.
