My first love
(It’s infatuation, I know)

When in the fifth grade
As I regress
A new student move in to Chelsea School
A girl in “the feed sack dress”

My heart
Was taken immediately, I must confess
I fell in love
With the girl in the “feed sack dress”

She didn’t realize I existed
She did talk to me at recess
Her penmanship was perfect
This girl in the “feed sack dress”

She was perfect
I was such a mess
I just wanted to touch her hand
The new girl in the “feed sack dress”

I thot the world would end without her
Did she like me, I would have to guess
She showed me no never mind
This girl in the “feed sack dress.”

When I graduated from Chelsea Dist. No. 10
My mind turned to other girls I guess
Because I thought less and less
About the girl in the feed sack dress.
