Love, Love Me

Love me as a son
who seeks nurturing, suckles
during early manhood
requiring gifts from a mother
and father, their
DNA of perfection
skin tones and interracial attitudes
promise of success in this
world of worlds
boldness to conquer, success
to fulfill.

Love me as a daughter
who creates joy from a smile
gurgling with knowledge in a path
to womanhood
to whom the future is
like a ripe melon
where men gaze breathless
not only at my desiring beauty, but
at an attitude of success
and fulfillment of women’s status
in this world of worlds.

Love me as mother and father
where happiness is no less
than a metaphor
striving to overcome challenges
for children of distinction
love and care for their babes
childhood to youth and beyond
precious children an
extension of a greater plan.

Love, love me as a son,
a daughter, mother and father.
