Chelsea Kansas Front Page 11-21-38

The First Edition
(Of the Front Page)

Elections over
Nothing left but the stinking smell
Of cigars that were smoked in the schoolhouse
During the voting, well

Its too cold to open the windows
To let in some fresh air
Well just have to grin and bare it
But what do we care,

Weve named our Club Officers
And said the things were thankful for
Time to think about Thanksgiving
And the good food in store

For our relatives are coming
To our house for Turkey and pie
The living room will be filled with people
Who like Turkey, but I

Prefer a slice of ham
No Turkey for me
Some cranberry sauce
And a cup of sassafras tea.
