Dee's Cafe

Café at Possum Flats

On Main in Possum Flats
Between the Drug store and beer hall
Is a small café
With good food for all.

This café on Main Street
In the town next to the “Hangin Tree”
Where you could check out
The “Blue Plate Special” At Dee’s

The cowboys and the farmers
Would come into town
First stop, the beer hall
For a cold one to wash the farm dust down

Then to the local eatery
When you got the Hungry’s
For that Blue Plate Special
At the café “Dee’s”

Old Gertie is the waitress
She’ll serve you “Cornbread and Beans”
The Blue Plate Special
Served at “Dee’s”

You never got rowdy
While you were eatin and havin fun
There in plain sight
Gertie kept a loaded shotgun.
