Where Would You Be?

Where Would You Be?

Where Would You Be?

Back in 1492 Christopher Columbus
Fulfilled his dream
With three tiny wooden sail boats
And best wishes from the Queen

If the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria
Hadnít made that voyage across the sea
And made it to America
Where would you be?

Thank God for those men, women and children
Wanting to be free of tyranny
If they hadnít weathered it out
Where would you be?

Can you imagine what would have happened
Had this small band of pilgrims not wanting to be free
Not willing to be cooped up in a tossing boat for days
Where would you be?

Weíve got our famous People
Many heroes have we
But if not for Christopher Columbus
Where would we be?

If not for Columbus
And his crazy scheme
Would we still be under
The thumb of some English King?

When Columbus sighted land
After many days at sea
Without his foresight
Where would we be?

Christopher Columbus
I would say this to you
I thank you for that October day
Back in 1492.
