Paper Moon?

Paper Moon?

Itís only a ďPaper Moon
Rising over a cardboard seaĒ
Words from an old song
Instilled in my memory,

Here on Mann Lane
We watch as the full moon
Rises above the rocky ridges
We know that soon

The day is ending
Darkness setting in
That old Moon is getting brighter
As twilight begins.

The stillness of the evening
Quiet as a mouse
As the neighbors
Retreat into their house

In another few hours
Comes the dawn of a new day
That Moon like old Soldiers
Just fades away.

Itíll wait patiently
For time to reappear
To again be seen
When Ole Sol will disappear.
