When the Storm Clouds Gather--

When the Storm Clouds Gather----

Words from that old WWII refrain
Are alive in my memory
But this isn’t “far across the sea”
These gather over Hemet country.

As those clouds move closer together
They blot out the sun
We close the doors and windows
Could this be a “Dry Run”?

Are we in for a Gully Washer
Or just a gentle summer shower
AS higher and tighter above our house
Those clouds are gaining power.

Maybe they’re just passing through
And again the sun will shine
Maybe the rain will come tomorrow
Or some other time.

There “Will be Blue Birds Over
Those White Cliffs of dover”
Just for you and me
You’ll see.

So as these storm clouds
Blot out the sun
I’m finished
And this poems done.

How about this For an ending, Jay and Iris, an Original
