Today I'm really 84

After a great thanksgiving dinner
After a piece of Chocolate Birthday cake
After being with all my family
What more could I ask for “for heavens sake”

Birthday wishes by the score
Hugs and handshakes all around
Nothing better could be asked for
A better day could not be found

I was luckier than most
Nov. the 25th
Meant thrice as much to me
Thanksgiving, Birthday, Family was my best gift.

Jennifer and Debbie did the cooking
Ted the carving
As I watched in anticipation
My stomach said I was starving

Couldn't wait to dive in
That turkey and dressing
Everything looked so tasty
So eager to be digesting.

And boring my grand kids
With my tales of yesteryear
They just smiled as they listened
As I bent their ear.

As we drove home
The traffic was light
Soon our gated community
Was in sight.

As Shirley and I kissed goodnight
The day was ending
What a day it was
We so enjoyed spending.

This one
I'll always remember
Two thousand and ten
The 25th of November
