Thanksgiving is over--

Thanksgiving is over--
Turkey day is gone
But now
Christmas is coming on

Time to get out
That old green fake tree
Get all those decorations
O woe is me.

Place those iron deer in the yard
With their heads going up and down
Making like they are eating
Something off the ground.

Hang those lights
High up on that roof
Me on a ladder
You've gone far enough.

Things aren't
Really that bad
I can always bank on
My Grandson Chad

Came out yesterday
And easy for me
in a couple minutes
He'd put up our tree.

On the outside decorating
He worked long and hard
Placing all the goodies
In our front yard.

He placed everything
Just right
So it would look great
When the lights went on at night

Thank you Chad
For all your work today
I'm so grateful
I don't know what to say

But you saved your Grandpa
Lots of aches and pains
Probably a broken bone or two
But I thank you again

Your willingness to help
I do appreciate
I can now look forward to Christmas
All I have to do is wait.
