Recently,in spite of all the bad weather we have been experiencing,I was visiting My Uncle Fossill up in Podunk County Tennessee,I had been summond by My Uncle Fossill who, over the phone, sounded very serious stating that He had been chrged with forgery by a neighbor,Mr.Leon Dee Sludge, who inadvertently had discovered what he stated was a forged document down at the Podunk County Court House and had subsequently charged My Uncle Fossill with that henious crime!
The Podunk County Magistrate had obtained an arrest warant for My Uncle Fossill and I was being summond as a charecter witness.
The Magistrate had called the Mayor and the Sheriff, both of which,in addition to the Political Speeches both were making on the Court House Lawn, promised dire consequences would insue for all concerned parties if these allegations against my Uncle Fossill were proven to be true.
And indeed the whole volunteer Fire Department of Podunk County had been placed on full alert!
Aunt Flossie Mae was all in tears because She was now wondering if She and Uncle Fossill were indeed legally married, the F.B.I. and the I.R.S. were reputed to be investigating due to the nature of the crime of Forgery, all in all there was a great hullabaloo going on up there in Podunk County Tennessee when I arrived.
Finally a hand writing expet was called in all the way from Atlanta Georgia who carefully analyized both the signature of My Uncle Fossill, the signature of Mr.Leon Dee Sludge and the signature on the supposedly forged document and cited that although there were some simularities in all 3 signatures, that Uncle Fossills X AND Mr.Sludges X were distinctly different and that no forgery had taken place, whereupon all parties retired to thier respective domiciles and at last report had indeed enjoyed a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
