Last week I wrote a book proposal for a collection of my stories. This I am going to send out to publishers and literary agents to see if I can make a sale Last Thursday, I sent it to a publisher who once gave a review of a Chicken Soup for The Soul book that I had a story in. The publisher gave the book a bad review, but singled out my story as a shining point in the book. I figured she'd be a good start to send my proposal to The next day she emailed and requested a copy of my completed manuscript It's not a sale, but it's a foot in the door. I have her interested Now to reel her in I've worked all weekend sorting my stories into categories and am only half way through. She is requesting a maximum of 250 pages, so I'm going to have to pick out my favorites. I have 2 to 3 times that many pages. She is also requesting my marketing plan. Does anyone have experience with this? Mike |
