Friendship

Thanks for Being My Friend

I donít know why my Momma left me
All I could was cry
Then I found a new friend
As he was flying by

He came up to me
All he could do was coo
I found out that I was not alone
He was lonesome too.

After close inspection
I extended my arm
He cuddled up against me
To keep me safe from harm.

With my new friend and playmate
The time passes by
As I climb into the branches
Close to me he does fly.

I still think about my Momma
But I donít cry anymore
Iím not sad now,
Iíve got a new friend worth fighting for.

We know weíre different
But we donít care
Weíre not lonesome anymore
Weíre such a happy pair.
