Let Me live and die in Dixie
My own beloved South,
that Land of Grits and corn pone
where they say "well hush my mouth"
Dont send me to no Northland
that land of ice and snow
dont try to send me East or West
cause I aint gonna go!
let Me live and die in Dixie
where we eat turnip gteens and ham
and for desert we always have
some of Grannies candid yams
dont send me to no northland
cause I dont wanna go
let me live and die in Dixie
the place that I love so.
Let Me live and die in Dixie
where thet say "Yall come back, you hear"
to me that Southern drawl
is just music to my ear!
