By the Sea?

By The Sea

When I was young
I could picture me
Living in a cottage
Down by the sea, by the beautiful sea

Watching ocean liners
Sailing by peacefully
Passing in front of my cottage
Down by the sea, by the beautiful sea

Hearing the roaring waves
As the tide rises and falls in front of me
Nestled safe in my cottage
Down by the sea, by the beautiful sea

Watching the whitecaps
I would enjoy immensely
Peering out the window of my cottage
Down by the sea, by the beautiful sea.

Breathing the salt air
Carried by the sea breeze
Walking the beach in front my cottage
Down by the sea, by the beautiful sea.

Heard about a great earthquake
Close to Japan, you see
Destroyed thousands of cottages
Built down by the sea, by the angry sea.

A gigantic wave
Called a “Tsunami”
Razed thousands of cottages
Built down by the sea, by the angry sea.

This was far away
Might not happen again in this century
So my dream still stands, of a cottage
Built down by the sea, by the beautiful sea.
