A Difference of Opinion

A difference of Opinion

Fred and Frieda Finch
Were on the stump
And they’re perfect relationship
Had suddenly hit a bump.

Fred, told Frieda, that their kids
Were old enough to be on their own
And were capable to find food
After all, they’re over half grown

Frieda said to Fred
In agitation she did speak
And not one
To turn the other cheek

Freida Finch’s
Motherly instinct
Reared it’s head
In a state of pique

The heated conversation moved forward
Frieda lost it and started to shriek
Fred, hesitating no longer
Grabbed Frieda by the beak

Look Frieda, said Fred
Give me a chance to speak
Don’t look at me
As if I have a mean streak

Our chicks should not depend on us
Their own food they should seek
Bugs are in abundance
There future is not so bleak

Frieda grudgingly agreed with Fred
Into the nest she took one last peek
Remembering how they once were
Just a nest of little tweets.

Fred and Frieda Finch
Are together, as we speak
Preparing another nest
For a new batch of tweets.
