I've given up on fighting wars
and I wont fight no more,
and I dont even know
what I was fighting for.

I threw away My Uniform
and I threw away My gun,
and I hid out in the bushes
untill the setting sun.

I'm going back to Alabam
and I wont leave no more,
because I aint a fighting
no more in this old war.

As for the glorious Union
and the Confederacy too,
I dont want no part of
any thing you do.

And if you come to get me
I'll sic My dogs on You,
no matter what your wearing
if it's gray or if it's blue.

I've given up on fighting war
and I wont fight no more,
and never did I even know
what I was fighting for.
(wishing all a glorious memeorial day.)
Bob Mitchum :)
