I was elated today to find a message in my inbox from Kathe Campbell. She has been home from hospital and rehab center for about two weeks, but today was the first time she'd ventured up the steps to the loft where her computer is. Her new hip is still learning to do things that we sometimes take for granted!
I have missed my dear friend greatly. We've talked on the phone a few times since her surgery, but it's not the same as those several times a day (some days) notes to ask something, share some silly thing that happened, or to send me a new story she's written. We also play scrabble online, and let me tell you, she's the queen of the scrabble board. Beats me soundly most of the time.
Kathe won't be running up and down those steps any time soon, but she'll be at her computer now and then. Healing and recovery take time, and the older we get, the more time it takes. It will be a happy day when we see her posting a story here at Our Echo.
