I Made a Promise

I made a promise to my wife
Upon my retirement
She and I would eat out
This was my commitment

She had cooked for the family
Thousands of meals
For Lori and Scott, and me
So this was my deal

Now for lunch I go to “Arby’s”
For French Dip or beef and Cheddar cheese
Or Fried chicken down at
KFC’s.

On Tuesday it may be a “Sub”
Or spaghetti and meatballs at “Millies”
Taco’s and a burrito at “Del Taco”
Or a turkey sandwich at “Mimi’s.”

Maybe lunch at “The Early Bird” café
Or pancakes at “I-Hop”
A sit down lunch at “Polly’s”
“Los Vaquero’s” for Mex. a tasty stop.

The buffet at the “Sizzler”
Or the “Home Town Buffet”
Lunch at the Morongo Country Club
Or for the buffet there on Sunday.

Grab a Pizza at the “Chicago”
Or “Hong Kong” for Chinese
“Dukes” Steakhouse
Or the “Steak and Stein” if you please

Quick one at “Jack in the Box”
A Polish with sauerkraut
At the Wienerschnitzel
Maybe a hamburger at the “In and Out”

This diet is not for everyone
Might be minus some nutrition
We’ve survived these many years
Our bodies are in a stable condition

Time to start all over again
My pattern as you can see
Shows we have something different every day
Long live diversity.
