(Nov.1, 2011)

How do I remember
About Four -four- forty four?
While my English teacher lectured the class
I was thinking about going off to war

Today the first of November 2011
Every where you look there is war
Not very much different
Than Four four forty four.

Back in Four four forty four
Our enemies were well defined
Hitler and Hirohito
We were trying hard to find.

In One one one one one
We’re kinda in a bind
Enemies all around
Of unsound mind.

Hiding in the shadows
Suicide bombers by the score
Killing indiscriminately
In a stupid, stupid war.

I’ll not see two two twenty two
Hopefully there will be peace
For our kids and grandkids
Maybe this war nonsense will cease

Maybe it will be “Nirvana”
Much earlier than three three thirty three
A state of paradise
All people will be set free

This is a dream
That we’re all hoping for
No more bombing
No more war.

The date today is
One one one one one
Tonight at midnight
One one one one one is gone.
