I am happy that this the first day of 2012

I am happy to have survived 2011 (there was never a doubt)

I am happy that my wonderful Roz came into my bedroom at midnight and gave me a New Years kiss, just one of many thousands I have received over the past 44 years.

I am happy that I will never tire of Chinese kisses. Caucasian kisses ainít bad but pale in comparison to those Chinese smackers.

I am happy that itís been over 30 years since waking up with a New Yearís Day hangover. Only my belly hangs over now.

I am happy that I wrote my first check this morning to my Lutheran Church and put the right year on it.

I am happy to have a church to write it to without fear of persecution.

I am happy to have received so many books for Christmas and kids who know how much I love to read.

I am happy to read slowly as to absorb all I read.

I am happy to live in a country that allows me to read what I want.

I am happy that we only got a couple of inches of snow yesterday and I could ride my scooter to church.

I am happy to be able to look forward to a new year and look back on the old one without any regrets.

I am happy to be able to say Happy New Year to all my OurEcho friends

Happy New Year from Chuck and Roz in Montana
