Itsy Bitsy Spider

Itsy Bitsy Spider

While sleeping soundly
Safely in my bed
Sometime during the night
On my shoulder just behind my head

This Itsy Bitsy spider
Thought it would be neat
To stick his stinger
Deep into the meat

Of my shoulder
Then quietly leave the scene.
A couple days later
I felt a sharp pain.

I looked into the mirror
There were two little dots
Kinda red around them
Two tiny spots.

About the size of
A pencil erasure
I felt a twinge as
Shirley applied pressure.

Talked to a lady Doctor
Down at the lodge bistro
She looked and advised me
To see our family doctor, doncha know.

Went to Urgent Care
Down Wildomar, CA. way
An hour or so in the waiting room
To hear what the Doc. would say.

He looked at my “owie”
That Itsy Bitsy spider bite
Pressed on it and bandaged it
Said use Neosporin and I would be all right

Maybe take six months
To completely disappear
The two dots would look
Like two freckles, I swear.

I’m so lucky that this Itsy Bitsy spider
Was not a Brown Recluse
Or a Black widow
That would be bad news

So to this Itsy Bitsy Spider
Go back up that drain spout
I wish you no bad luck
I just hope you never come back out.
