Now right up front, before you start reading this story,I would like you to know that it is,for the most part,a true story and while it is and was very amusing to me,some people out there might not find it as amusing as do I.However, I feel that it is just too good of a tale to pass into oblivion without being repeated,so having said that,I shall now proceed.
My Mother in Law,may God rest her Soul, was a very genteel Southern Lady and a life long Southern Baptist Sunday School Teacher however, being in her early eighties, she sometimes mixed up her choice of words Her neice had met a young man of Lebanese heritage and had became engaged, the ladies of the church had a social circle that on suceeding sunday evenings, would congregate at one or the others homes to enjoy lunch and socialize and I was often invited when the Ladies came to Her home,to help her clean, cook, serve and wash up the dishes afterwards,on this occasion, and without any warning,my mother in law stood up from the table after lunch and in a very proud (and Loud) voice, said "Ladies of the Social Circle,I have a very important announcement to make,My neice will be getting married in 2 weeks,She is going to marry a Lesbian."
Bob Mitchum :)
I hope that not too meany of you are offended by this story,it took place a lot of years ago before the present day hoopla of Gay Marriage ever was an issue in the court system of America. I still laugh when I think of the looks on all those ladies present at that luncheon.
