I sit with a smile on my face
but my heart is filled with sorrow,
I'm waiting for the Sun to Shine
and I hope for a better Tomorrow.

Like a Clown with a painted smile
acting out a scripted part,
I face the World with a smile
but hiden inside is a broken heart.

My troubled Mind I also hide
smiling and joking with a hearty laugh,
but inside I pray for a light
that might show me a better path.

And though the day is dark and drear
and inside my heart is pining,
I know that come tomorrow
all the clouds will have a silver lining.
