Purple Elephants and polka dot Zebras
prancing through my drugged dreams
people laughing people talking
all within my head it seems.

Yellow music that I can see there
each note floats upon the breeze
giant birds with blood red eyes
staring at me from the trees.

Strike a match and light me up
and I'll take another toke
all these things that I am seeing
tells me life is not a joke.

Monsters gibbering in the darkness
Monsters that I cannot see
cackling laughter echos erily
guess the devils come for me.

Strike a match and heat this spoon up
let that licquid set me free
monsters growling in the darkness
guess the devils come for me.

But it wont matter in a century
a hundred years from now
I'll be dead and I'll be buried
and I wont remember anyhow.

So give me those pills or a bottle
and let me drown my misery
it wont matter come tomorrow
cause the devils come for me.
Bob Mitchum
