The years fly so quickly
from youth to old age,
Our memories become dim
and are lost in time's haze.

But I will always remember
with a sad hearts refrain,
how we stood by a carousel
and shared a kiss in the rain.

The music was silenced
on that old merry go round,
for they were closing the park
and tearing it down.

I was sad for those horses
and it seemed they would cry,
and we had came there
to bid them good bye.

The sky seemed sad also
that they were going away,
as we stood by that carousel
on that long ago day.

Two lonely young people
hearts filled with pain,
standing by a silent carousel
sharing a kiss in the rain.
