How many times have I given my writing away for free?

Too many times!

A few days ago, I received an email from a lady asking if they could use my most published story
in a text book.

I started checking. They planned to print 30,000 copies of the text book and selling them at
$100 a copy to students.

I questioned them on what they would pay me.

She said, "You let us use it last time, in the firts running of the book."

I finally remembered them and asked for payment, especially after realizing how much money they were making off this book.

She asked what I wanted and I asked for $100

30 minutes later she said that would be fine.

Now I wonder if I should have asked for more, but I am happy with $100.

Please don't let publishers abuse you.
