Silhouettes at the Beach

Silhouettes at the Beach

With the Pacific Ocean in the background
Mother and Son barefoot in the sand
Sun reflecting off the water
This picture-to me-‘oh so Grand’

I saw this picture on my computer
I was frozen to the spot
My mind thrown into wondering
Whoever took this shot-

Captured silhouettes of a Mother and Son
Standing side by side
What were these two silhouettes thinking?
Down by the seaside.

There spread before them
Pacific Ocean as far as they could see
Sunlight bouncing off the ripples
Standing “footloose and fancy free”.

Their thoughts could be miles apart
As they gazed out to sea
Yet their thoughts could be the same
While drinking in the beauty

These silhouettes
Of Mother and Son, by the seashore
Are branded into my memory
Forever more.
