It was the winter of 1892 as the Old Rabbi walked through the streets of Braunau,He was on his way to buy a bit of firewood to keep his small one room apartment warm.He saw a young child trying to cross a busy street filled with hurrying horse drawn carriages and woondered why such a small boy would be afoot and alone on this cold evening,He saw that the young child was about to dash out in front of a carriage which was careening down the street in a heedless and reckless manner, dashing up to the child he snatched him almost from beneath the carriage wheels. My Son,said the old man,You must be very careful and watch both ways as you cross the street! "Sir" said the young boy,Thank You for saving my life,I was but trying to cross the street to meet my Mother on the other side where she is waiting for me.
With that, the old man and the young child went their seperate ways, the child with his Mother and the Old Man to buy his bit of firewood. The old man thought to himself that had he not been here that God would have had another soul in Heaven, thank goodness i was so quick He thought, the old man never knew that the name of the boy whose life he had just saved was Adolph Hitler. The End
This is a work of fiction concieved in my own imperfect mind,I hope no one is offended by it and it is ment purely as a thought provoking and entertaining story.
