There’s a Place in Your Heart----

Some find it
Some seldom do
Those great memories
That’s precious only to you

Your favorite toy
The doorstop you made
For Mom for Christmas
Your first lemonade

Your first crush
Your first love
Your first dance
All of the above

Are in your heart
Are stored away
To be retrieved
Some later day

A place for sadness
A place for joy
A place to recall
Every girl and boy

Who stood by you
Through “thick and thin”
Some of the trouble
You got yourself in

You recall their smile
You recall their laugh
They were a witness
On your behalf

My wedding
My beautiful bride
Two beautiful kids, a girl and a boy
How my heart swelled with pride

All of the friends you made
While going through life
Friends I worked with
Friends of my wife

On a cloudy day
As a gentle rain is falling
Staring at the wet outdoors
I am recalling

All those memories long past
The things that I did
The great people I’ve met
As an adult and as a kid

I recall the good times
About friends so true
They chase away the clouds
And let the sun shine through.
