Theres a cute little cabin
nestled in the deep wood,
if you saw it you would love it
and almost anyone woud.
But that cute little cabin
as innocent as it seems
is filled with dark memories
and nightmarish dreams.
An old man onced lived there
with his family it's said,
and one dark night in a rage
he chopped off their heads.
Then He buried the Bodies
in the darkness of night,
in a deep dark hole
and away out of sight.
Then He planted some flowers
what kind I dont know,
but I've heard it said that
it might have been a rose.
I used to see Him often
as He passed me by,
with a basket of roses
and a sly look in his eye.
Though He died years ago,
those old tales still remain
of that cute cabin in the wood
and the people that were slain.
They say strange noises
can sometimes be heard
of screams and laughter
but I think thats absurd.
But I stay away from that cabin
I dont go there at all,
especially on dark nights
when the wipporwills call.
And yet and still some times
when the winter wind blows,
it seems as if I can smell
the scent of a rose....
