Though Life and Love be cruel
and that seems to be my fate,
and though Others mourn with tears,
I sit amidst the ruins and wait.

Amidst the ruins of shattered dreams
in hope I sit and wait for you,
amidst the ruins of broken vows
and the pain you put me through.

Praying for a better tomorrow
though Prayers unanswered be my fate,
and though no hope looms on yon horizon,
eternally,I sit amidst the ruins and wait.

This poem was suggested to me by a friend on facebook who said they awoke with these words ringing in their head "and as for me....i sit amidst the ruins and wait " so i took the liberty of paraphrasing it a bit and the result was this poem.Hope some one likes it out there.
