How bittersweet the sting of cupids arrow
while we in youthful ignorance believe
the world holds no true sorrow
and in our ignorant bliss
we first sample loves sweet touch
and revel in loves first kiss
How sweet that first caress.
what joy we felt at loves first glance.
little did we know of loves sharp lance
that cuts the soul till it bleed
and rends the heart like a tender reed
blasted by a cruel storm.
How sweet that first caress.
we did not know that love is as fragile
as the morning dew
ah sweet ignorant bliss
how sweet loves first caress.
